Protecting your data is important to us. This privacy policy explains how the app Spitzfeder handles your data. The app is 100% usable offline for learning and stores your learning progress locally on your device. It also includes an optional Firebase Analytics function. This function is disabled by default and activated only with your voluntary consent.
Spitzfeder is 100% usable offline for its content, exercises and saving your progress. Without your consent to optional analytics, the app:
Your learning progress (e.g. completed stations, earned stars and experience points) is stored exclusively on your device (in the app's local storage). This learning-progress data does not leave your device and is not transmitted to us or third parties. Optional analytics data is separate and may be transmitted after consent as described in the following section.
If you delete the app, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted as well.
If you consent to optional analytics, the app sends pseudonymous usage and event data to Firebase Analytics, a Google service. This may include which parts or screens of the app are used. As campaign milestones, we record once the first newly completed activity and reaching the review prompt at station 38, including when this monument is skipped. No learning content, results, or submitted reviews are transmitted. Independently, Apple may attribute installations to Google Ads campaigns through SKAdNetwork in an aggregated, privacy-preserving way without a personal advertising identifier. We do not use a personal advertising identifier (IDFA), create advertising profiles, or use the data for personalized cross-app tracking. Consent is voluntary and not required to use the app. You can withdraw it at any time in Settings. Analytics collection is then disabled, and locally stored analytics data is reset. Data already transmitted to Google is processed under Google's applicable rules. For more information, see Google's privacy policy.
When you consent, Google (Firebase Analytics) is the recipient or processor of the pseudonymous usage and event data. Processing or transfers to countries outside the European Union or European Economic Area, especially the United States, cannot be ruled out. Google describes the processing and the applicable legal safeguards in its privacy policy. Without consent, no analytics data from the app is transmitted to Google.
Spitzfeder does not require a user account and can also be used by children and minors for offline learning. Optional analytics are disabled by default. Minors should only consider enabling analytics together with their parents or legal guardians and give consent in accordance with applicable law. No personalised advertising is used.
The app is downloaded via the Apple App Store. For data collected by Apple during this process (e.g. Apple ID, payment information), Apple's privacy policy applies. We have no access to this data.
The app is alternatively available via the Google Play Store. For data collected by Google during this process (e.g. Google account, payment information), Google's privacy policy applies. We have no access to this data.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
If you have not consented to optional analytics, no analytics data from the app is transmitted to us or Google. If you have consented, your rights may also apply to the pseudonymous usage and event data processed in that context. For questions or to exercise your rights, you can contact Spitzfeder at any time: info@spitzfeder.de
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority regarding the processing of your personal data.
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy as necessary, for example in the event of changes to the app's functionality or legal requirements. The current version is always available at this URL.
